Basement Life

I admit it, spanking is one of my all time favorite things!!! With that in mind you can imagine how excited I was to find this book while out in Reno. The Compleat Spanker, written by Lady Green of Greenery Press. I have never seen a book dedicated strictly to spanking, so if that is one of your favorites also, I highly suggest you pick up a copy.

The Compleat Spanker is a very fast read. It focuses in on spanking and spanking alone. It deals with tools to use for spanking, different positions for spanking, scenes for spanking, and much more. It spends some time on the anatomy of your body which will be recieving this delightful treat, it also has a trouble shooting section for when those little mishaps pop up. I am also happy to say that it focuses in on the importance of communication when partaking in a spanking scene, or rather communication prior to, during and after.

The book is only 87 pages long, and it does include a wonderful resource guide. There is an appendix on finding others who enjoy spanking also, one on the cleaning of spanking implements, and one on combining bondage with spanking.

The Compleat Spanker is written by one of the authors of The Bottoming Book. So if you have read that book, ~which I highly suggest~, then you will have a feel for The Compleat Spanker. It is not lost in theory, or stuck on solid instructions, but rather a very friendly direct presentation of spanking. As with most books that Greenery Press releases, you feel as though you are having a conversation with the author, rather then stuck reading some text book.

I liked the fact that it addressed both sexes as both the Spanker and the spankie, giving some rather good tips to those men who enjoy being the spankie. At the very beginning of the book Lady Green spends some time talking about spanking in general, it's association with BD/SM and the different views that people have on spanking and BD/SM. I found it rather interesting that a lot of people who enjoy spanking do not consider it in the BD/SM family, however the majority of those involved in BD/SM consider it part of that lifestyle.
